When Casey learns Courtney has asked Jamie to run drugs for him, Casey begs Jamie to say no and stand up for himself. When Casey tries to help Jamie, Courtney stabs Casey with a shiv. Zac manages to arrange a deal in which Casey is released and Jamie is transferred to another prison in return for them giving evidence against Courtney. Sveen told an Inside Soap columnist that "Ricky really is falling for Nate" and wants to forget about Kyle's mistake. She is unaware Brax is still alive and viewers were still supporting a reunion for them. Sveen believed that Ricky's own fans would prefer her to be in a stable relationship and which Nate can give her. She concluded with her belief that Ricky would remain loyal to Nate rather than Brax. Writers devised a new romance story for Nate alongside Katarina Chapman . However, Kat does not want to spend time with Nate the following morning.
Reconciliation with Ricky
She explained that Kat's past was to blame for her reluctance to be with Nate. A week after giving birth, Ricky introduced the baby to Brax for the first time. Sveen explained that Ricky was excited by the event and tried to remain upbeat during the meeting, knowing that Brax would have to go back to a lonely prison cell at the end. Ricky and Brax agreed to name their son Casey, after his late uncle. Ricky also found it hard to look at Casey as he reminded her of Brax. When Marilyn Chambers offered to look after Casey for the evening, Ricky took the opportunity to skip town to grieve for Brax on her own.
At the 2014 finale, Kyle arrange a bus ride for Summer Bay residents to come and see Phoebe's music launch in the city. Kyle confides in Brax about the pain of losing Tamara, and that he wished things went differently for them however also states that he can live with whatever way it goes as he feels that it is the right thing to do. Kyle is devastated when Brax turns himself into the police, after confessing to accidentally killing Johnny Barrett year prior. Seeking comfort, Kyle has a one-night stand with Robyn Sullivan. Kyle faces further heartbreak when Casey and Tamara get back together; however they later break up.
Home and Away: Ricky Sharpe goes into labour after baby shower
Nate pleads his innocence to Chris and Kat asks him to help catch Billie out. When Chris discovers that Billie is behind an embarrassing poster designed to ruin Kat's career, he agrees to help. Chris invites Billie over to his house wanting her confess to setting Nate up. He tells Billie that he knows Nate is innocent but wants to see him punished anyway. He suggests they work together, but Billie notices Chris is recording the conversation and stops it. Unbeknownst to her, Chris is wearing a wire and she then admits to framing Nate and Billie is arrested.
Writers have only used Nate's love for others to "shake him" emotionally. One of Nate's hobbies often portrayed in the show is kayaking. He informed them that he had kayaked when he was younger and believed they would not be interested. However, they liked the idea and made Nate a kayaking enthusiast. Ricky comes to Summer Bay for Heath Braxton and Bianca Scott's engagement party.
Kyle Braxton
She saw his actions as "condescending" and became frustrated at his interference. Ricky eventually told Nate to leave her alone and he worried that he had lost her for good. When Ricky learned that Nate had secured her a photography job in London, she immediately sought out Brax to tell him the news first. On her return from London, Ricky came to the conclusion that she did not want to be with either Brax or Nate. Nate later arranged for them to meet at Angelo's, where he declared his love for Ricky and told her he wanted to make her happy. Sveen later commented that Ricky's relationship with Nate had been a welcome distraction from the pain of her miscarriage.
Nate suggests that Casey is picking up on her fear and tension. Kyle informs Ricky of Brax's plan to break out of jail and decided to join him on the run. However, Kat breaks the news that Brax is presumed dead, after the car transferring him to a new prison had been run off the road into a river.
Relationship with Kat Chapman
Brax tells Nate that he's not losing another brother, just like he lost Casey and is willing not to lose Kyle as well. But Kyle was unable to hold on and tells Brax to give Phoebe his message that he's sorry and that he love her. But Kyle lost conscious and was forced to get out by hand and Nate tries to revive him and sent him to hospital. Home and Away's Ricky Sharpe will suffer a pregnancy scare in an upcoming storyline, as the stress of Brax's prison sentence starts to take its toll.
Casey falls ill with viral meningitis, bringing Nate and Ricky back together. When she returns from the hospital, Ricky is greeted by Brax. She expresses her anger over his decision to fake his death and abandon her and Casey. Brax asks Ricky to leave the Bay with him, but she refuses and they say goodbye. Nate, Ricky and Casey temporarily move into the Palmer's house.
Matthew "Matt" Page, played by Alec Snow, made his first screen appearance on 21 October 2013. Snow was cast as Matt after attending an audition in early 2013. He told Nick Houghton from The Toowoomba Chronicle that he was nervous ahead of the audition and did not expect to win the role.
Nate is described as a "fighter" who keeps on progressing despite a troubled personal life. Other character's are drawn to Nate due to his positive outlook on life. He comes to work Northern Districts Hospital because he had longed "for the adrenalin rush a busy Emergency Department provides." Nate is a respected medic and fellow residents appreciate his skills. Nate is a calm character and it takes a lot of drama to unsettle him.
Ricky pays Kyle to collect a package, which contains a gun, and plants it in Casey's Braxton's flat. Ricky tries to convince her brother to abandon his revenge plan, but he refuses. When Ricky threatens to tell Brax about the revenge plan, Adam takes her hostage alongside Tamara Kingsley.
Brax arrested for Dean Sanderson's (Kevin Kiernan-Molloy) murder and Ricky blames Ash. Ricky helps to distract Katarina Chapman while Brax and Ash briefly skip town. Brax initially agrees to a deal that would see him serve eight years in prison, but he changes his mind and pleads not guilty.
